Why Choose PPM?

The Business Case for Preventative Maintenance

Don't wait for costly breakdowns. A proactive maintenance strategy protects your investment, ensures compliance, and dramatically reduces business interruption.

100% Regulatory Compliance

Stay ahead of Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and BS 7671:2018. We handle all statutory inspections, certifications, and record-keeping so you're always audit-ready.

Predictable Maintenance Costs

Fixed monthly fees eliminate surprise repair bills. Budget confidently with all-inclusive packages that cover planned servicing and (in higher tiers) reactive call-outs.

Minimize Business Downtime

Prevent up to 70% of electrical failures with routine maintenance. Early detection of hot spots, worn components, and system issues keeps your operation running smoothly.

Insurance Requirements Met

Many commercial policies mandate preventative maintenance and thermal imaging. Our Gold package provides the exact audit trail insurers require, protecting your coverage.

Extended Asset Lifespan

Regular servicing, cleaning, and calibration extend the life of switchgear, distribution boards, EV chargers, and emergency systems—delaying costly replacements.

Dedicated Technical Partner

You're not just a client—you're a priority. Contract holders receive dedicated account management, priority scheduling, and 24/7 access to our NICEIC-approved engineers.

How It Works

Your PPM Journey: From Enquiry to Peace of Mind

We make onboarding simple. Here's how we tailor and deliver your preventative maintenance contract.

1

Free Site Survey & Consultation

Contact us for a no-obligation site survey. We'll assess your electrical infrastructure, EV charging points, emergency systems, and operational requirements. This forms the basis of your tailored package and accurate pricing.

2

Tailored Proposal & Tier Selection

We'll recommend a Bronze, Silver, or Gold package based on your site complexity, risk profile, and budget. You'll receive a transparent breakdown of all included services, visit schedules, and response commitments.

3

Contract Activation & Asset Registration

Once you approve, we activate your contract and register all electrical assets in our system. You'll receive welcome documentation including emergency contact details, scheduled visit dates, and (for Gold) portal login credentials.

4

Scheduled Maintenance & Ongoing Support

Our engineers conduct planned visits on schedule (annually, bi-annually, or quarterly). After each visit, you receive comprehensive reports, certificates, and any remedial recommendations. Between visits, you have guaranteed response times for emergencies.

5

Continuous Improvement & Compliance

We don't just maintain—we advise. During reviews, we'll recommend efficiency improvements, technology upgrades (like smart EV charging), and energy-saving opportunities. Your compliance library grows with every test and inspection.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our PPM packages, pricing, and service delivery.

What does PPM actually stand for, and why do I need it?
PPM stands for Planned Preventative Maintenance. It's a proactive approach to maintaining your electrical systems through scheduled inspections and servicing—rather than waiting for breakdowns. Under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, you have a legal duty to maintain electrical systems "to prevent danger." A PPM contract demonstrates compliance and drastically reduces the risk of costly failures, fires, or safety incidents.
How do I choose between Bronze, Silver, and Gold packages?
Bronze is ideal if you're budget-conscious and primarily need statutory compliance (e.g., landlords with simple properties). Silver suits most businesses—it balances prevention with priority support and is our most popular choice. Gold is for mission-critical operations (24/7 facilities, manufacturing, large portfolios) where downtime is extremely costly and you want all-inclusive coverage including thermal imaging and EV fleet care. During your free site survey, we'll recommend the best fit based on your risk profile and operational needs.
Are call-out fees and parts included in the monthly price?
It depends on your tier. Bronze covers planned maintenance only; reactive call-outs are charged separately at standard rates. Silver includes the first 2 hours of call-out labour, making minor fixes essentially free. Gold includes unlimited 24/7 call-out labour and common replacement parts (bulbs, fuses, contactors, etc.)—you'll rarely see an extra bill. Major component replacements (like a full distribution board) may be quoted separately even in Gold, but routine repairs are covered.
What's the difference between a full EICR every 5 years vs. 20% rolling annual?
A traditional EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) tests 100% of your circuits in one go every 5 years—it's disruptive and creates a big invoice spike. The 20% Rolling Annual Program (Silver & Gold tiers) spreads that same testing over 5 years: we test 20% of circuits each year. This spreads costs, minimizes disruption, and means an engineer is on-site annually to catch issues early. By the end of year 5, your entire installation has been tested—and the cycle repeats. It's smarter, more convenient, and ensures continuous oversight.
Do you cover EV charging infrastructure in the PPM packages?
Yes. As an OZEV-approved installer, we specialize in EV charging maintenance. Bronze doesn't include EV coverage (available as an add-on). Silver includes a basic annual health check—visual inspection of cables/connectors and a functional charge test. Gold provides full EV Fleet Care: comprehensive electrical safety testing (RCD, earth loop, insulation resistance), firmware updates, connector cleaning, and OCPP connectivity checks. This keeps your chargers operational, safe, and compliant with IET Code of Practice (5th Edition).
What happens if you find a serious fault during an inspection?
If we identify a C1 (Danger Present) or C2 (Potentially Dangerous) fault, we'll immediately inform you and recommend urgent remedial action. For Gold clients, many fixes are covered under the contract, so we can often resolve issues on the spot. For Bronze/Silver, we'll provide a detailed quote for remedial works. We always include a pre-authorized spend limit in contracts (e.g., up to £250 for minor fixes) to avoid delays—so small safety issues can be fixed immediately without waiting for approval. Your safety and compliance are never compromised.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my package later?
Absolutely. We recommend starting with the tier that fits your current needs and budget. As your business grows or your risk tolerance changes, you can upgrade mid-contract (pro-rated pricing applies). Many clients start on Bronze to establish the relationship, then upgrade to Silver once they see the value. Downgrading is also possible at renewal, though we rarely see it—once clients experience priority support and reduced downtime, they tend to stick with higher tiers.
How long are the contracts, and what's the cancellation policy?
PPM contracts are typically 12-month rolling agreements. This gives you flexibility while ensuring we can plan your maintenance schedule properly. At the end of each year, the contract auto-renews unless you give 30 days' notice. There's no lock-in beyond the first year. For multi-year commitments (3+ years), we can offer discounted rates—beneficial if you're planning long-term asset management or need to demonstrate compliance history to insurers or regulators.
